REVIEW: Most Haunted As Live - Series 21 Episode 8 (9th March 2018) Codnor Castle

The best thing about a good backlash is that Most Haunted will always make things worse for themselves, and with that we go straight into Codnor Castle part 2, we continue straight after the events of Part 1. (Catch up here)

Stuart has just used a remote trigger to set a doll on fire, Yvette nearly spoiled it by giving the game away when she asked "what is that" and pointed at the gimmick used that was hidden inside the doll, this was quickly called a "sound box" because you know, these ancient haunted dolls are known for their modern technology that allows them to make sounds aren't they?

Pretty much something like this was used to set the doll on fire. I wont spoil it too much as it is a magicians trick, and they shout at me when I reveal how things are done.

So with that.....

Quick Blurb
"Spook-searching with Yvette Fielding and co! The foreboding Codnor Castle cottage maintains its attack on the team with dramatic effect, causing Yvette to call an early end to their night."

Predictions for tonight's episode.
1. Something will be thrown OFF CAMERA.
2. A ghost will display an incredible ability to balance.
3. Stuart will saying something that makes him look stupid.
4. Fred will do something suspicious.
5. A big stunt to finish the episode that will make the doll on fire trick look lame in comparison.

Titles roll, and we are back in the room.

We get to see the doll back in its box

(If you want to see I uploaded it here https://i.imgur.com/gYGiinL.jpg, for some reason the image is being picked up as being "shocking", I am guessing the automated bots out there think it is real!)

We get a ridiculous discussion about what to do with the doll, and they take it outside where it cant do any damage.

They then carry on the investigation as if nothing happened.

Again the magnitude of what has just happened IF it was real is totally forgotten. That's how you know it's all fake.

Stuart and Beardy are talking, no one is listening.

Again it astounds at me how they are treating the audience here. If a Haunted Doll had really just caught fire, you would shut everything down, cameras off. Call the police, the fire brigade, you would simply not just put it in a box outside and carry on as normal.

"I'm being thick here now" - Stuart Torevell.

Karl with some classic camerawork here, making sure to film himself and the others instead of you know, the ghosts.

Stuart is getting a good stubble on his head, he will need a good shave tomorrow.

Now there is a very obvious camera edit here at 6 minutes and 20 seconds, even though Stuarts voice does not get edited. So we are getting audio from one device being played over a different video stream. And the moment you realise that, you know something fishy is about to happen. And low and behold we get...

We then get a couple of quick edits to bring everything back together. And the scene continues.

As Karl reaches the scene he gives out the most ridiculous and over the top gasp I have ever heard.

I am sure if you watch the scene you can figure out how it is done. Just a matter of using the audio feed from one camera, and playing it over the other, allowing one camera to be stopped for a moment, Stuart to put the chair in place, pick the camera up. A couple of quick back and forth edits to resync the sound, and job done. A simple fake poltergeist moment, all done OFF CAMERA of course. And apparently a constant recording hence why Stuart is talking non stop in the build up.

Stuart wants to get everyone to see the chair to make a point, but Karl just wants to move on.

Stuart says this is "classic" and like something out of a 1970's horror film.

Not quite Stuart. Not quite.

Back with Yvette and they have found a coin, and have heard a scratching noise. Glen asks the ghosts to make the scratching noise again using the coin, and nothing happens of course.

Whoever this crew member is, he is claiming that he has has a spasm in his chest, he is blaming the ghosts. Although I more suspect that it was the large kebab he had earlier in the day. From now on he will be known as "Gaviscon".

You know, a friend of mine once died of heart burn. I can't believe "Gav is gone".

Ok enough sillyness, back to the sillyness.

For some reason Yvette is fascinated with an old window. Insisting it has been opened.

Stuart and Karl go back upstairs.

Karl scares himself after seeing his own shadow, insists it was a dark ghostly figure.

Stuart is asking the poltergeist if they mean them any harm, there is no response.

Back with Yvette and she can hear low rumbling noises, however we already know that Stuart and Karl are directly below them.

Yvette is whistling at the ghosts. The ghosts are not whistling back.

Glen holds onto his laptop, like he wishes Yvette would hold onto him. In the scene above, he just stands in quiet contemplation for a good 45 seconds, imagining what a different life he could have had.

Back with Stuart and Karl and suddenly something has been thrown OFF CAMERA. It is a mug. No wait we are the mugs for watching.

Ok it is a tea cup, but if I said that I couldn't do my mug line, so deal with it.

Yvette and gang join Karl and Stuart downstairs.

Karl is talking about how he smells of smoke because of the smoke upstairs, even though he was no where near the doll when it was on fire.

Yvette finally sees the stool balanced on the door, she is suitably impressed.

Yvette has gotten hold of Glen's laptop, unfortunately he never had time to close the image he was looking at, I cant quite make out what it is though, maybe if you click the image above and see a large version and zoom in, you will.

Yvette asks the ghosts if they can hear her.
"Tap once for yes, twice for no"

The ghosts do not care, they have got better things to do, like balance stools on doors.

Fred knocks the table by accident and Yvette tells him off. " BE STILL"
That's quite funny.

She is now moving her finger over the laptop, waiting for the ghost to knock so she can press the key.

Worth noting that depending on how old this ghost is, he or she may have no comprehension of what a laptop even is.

This segment seems like a bit of a time waster.
Yvette starts then getting annoyed with the ghost (Karl) for not tapping at the right point to spell something out.

Karl making sure the ghost has a clear view of what Yvette is doing so it knows when to tap.

The ghost has conveniently gotten Yvette to type "RUN OR DIE".

SPOILER, No one dies tonight. Just imagine the lawsuit.

Yvette then accidentally gives away the end of the show, as Karl asks the ghosts to do something, Yvette points out that a doll has just been set on fire, and that people have had their arms burnt before. And she even says "Who's to say they cant set your coat on fire." Come on Yvette, you are either giving Karl ideas here, or you are spoiling the whole show.

Don't worry, just ten more minutes to go before we get to the good stuff, be patient.

The teams are split up again.

Notice the poor quality of the shot here, that is because it is legitimately dark while they film here. Remember when the image is clear and sharp, it is perfectly light. When the image is grainy like above, that is when it is dark.

Just a few seconds later, the cameraman switches the light on the camera on, and you can see the difference instantly.

I am just pointing this out as quite often they will try to make out how dark it is, or how they cant see where they are going, most of the time this is simply a lie.

Glen is up in the attic all on his own, time for a quick hand shandy, but then he remembers he needs to record some footage for the show, so starts talking to camera.

Back with Stuart, and beardy is hearing footsteps.

Glen is filming his laptop as it records potential EVP.
It's all gone a bit boring, I suspect this is the calm before the storm.
But as long as Yvette is with Karl, Karl wont do anything, he needs to get rid of Yvette first and get Stuart involved.

Greg then does a fart, Yvette assumes its the door behind him, so investigates, but the door makes no noise when moved, thus proving Greg had farted. He probably had the same lunch that Gaviscon had earlier.

Yvette then conveniently decides that everyone should meet up and then Karl and Stuart can go off to investigate on their own. Hmmmm. Big stunt coming soon I guess.

Karl keeps checking his jacket pocket for something, not sure what, maybe he is looking for his lighter or his Rizzler paper? Maybe he fancies a roll up? Who knows.

Yvette tells everyone to meet up in the attic. Hopefully Glen has had chance to finish his Shandy from earlier. Strange that no one noticed the ectoplasm in the corner of the attic.

Stuart and Karl are together now.
They go into a bathroom, and then hear a noise on the stairs. (Building the tension folks).

They investigate and find nothing.

Major props to Fred here for some excellent "Manspreading".
Not sure what they really think could happen here.

Back with Karl and Stuart and there is a noise, a cup has been thrown OFF CAMERA, but has not smashed this time.

We get some lovely shots of the cup.

We go split screen and Fred is asking the ghosts to do something to Stuart and Karl.

Stuart has a breath from his inhaler, perhaps he knows that things are about to get a bit smoky?

Now, during this whole split screen scene, there is no audio coming from Stuarts camera, we then get a overdub of Stuart saying "Let me just get a..." as he films away from Karl, then there is some flashing lights, Karl's arm has caught fire.

Now at no point do we see Karl's face or Stuart's face during this scene, we cut back to Yvette, so that whole scene was dubbed over.

This is the best frame I could see that shows the fire clearly.
As for how this could be done, easiest way would be to simply light some firepaper, like what magicians use, and what was probably used as part of the doll stunt. The reason that they dub over the sound is so that you don't hear Karl using the lighter, and it allows them to fully concentrate on the stunt when they do it, and not have to worry about what they say to make it sound convincing.

Everyone gets together again, Karl goes outside and we get lots of shots of people sniffing Karl's arm.

"Like a stuntman" - Stuart Torevell

Yes Stuart actually says that line.

Strangely there is no burn marks on the coat, or Karl's arm, which would point to flash paper being uses, as it burns very quickly. So would not cause any damage.

If your coat "spontaneously" caught fire, would you then put it back on after the fire is out? Karl would.

Yvette decides that it is time to end the investigation, but first they go to check the doll. The doll is fine.

Glen looks rather unimpressed by the whole thing, and the episode slowly draws to an end.

Ok how do I score this. The chair on the door frame was a bit silly, but was awkwardly filmed, but still it was a nice little stunt. The big finale of Karl catching fire, well it had to be filmed using the "shaky cam" method, as otherwise it would look a bit crap, so they filmed it in such a way that it would have a better impact. So I give them props for that, although the audio dub was a bit dodgy. They should have burnt Karl's coat to make it all seem more convincing. But I am guessing he cant afford a new coat right now.

Overall an ok episode, only 2 scenes worth watching, and perhaps really you only need to watch the last 5 minutes to see the good stuff.

I give this episode a strong 3 out of 10. Good effort but poor execution.

REVIEW: Most Haunted As Live - Series 21 Episode 7 (2nd March 2018) Codnor Castle

"Updated 25/02/18 - Please see bottom of article for an update."

A conversation overheard by the Most Haunted Mole at Antix Productions.

"So Most Haunted Live is back! UKTV have decided to throw a fortune at us and let them us whatever we like on a special live show that will air for 5 nights on REALLY and the W channel! Celebrate.....

What? That's not Most Haunted, that's Celebrity Haunted Mansion? So there is not Most Haunted Live? No Studio Audience? No Satellite trucks, fancy trailers, or all you can eat canteen? No big production? Nothing? UKTV are doing that for another show that last time it aired was universally panned as being terrible?

So what does Most Haunted get then? A 2 hour with ads, "As Live" self funded "special". That's it? But last time we did a Most Haunted As Live, those bastards at BadPsychics exposed us for editing the footage and faking events, thus instantly destroying the whole "As Live" claim. Oh well. Guess we don't have much choice."

And with that bombshell, let's take a look at this weeks filthy dirty Blurbage.

"Spook-searching with Yvette Fielding and co! The team visits Codnor Castle which has a dark history of cursed dolls, murder and suicide. Strange occurrences scare them to breaking point."

Yes it is true, UKTV have thrown a fortune at Celebrity Haunted Mansion, meaning there is no budget left whatsoever to fund any kind of Live Most Haunted show. Now from what I was told, the reason UKTV refuse to pay for a MHL is due to Karl getting caught tying a rope around his waste and having Stuart pull him up some stairs and then them claiming it was a ghost.

BadPsychics exposed that, and after that UKTV were so annoyed at the bad publicity, they said that in future all Most Haunted episodes need to be recorded so that any shenanigans could be edited out. But of course here at BadPsychics Towers we love a good challenge, so with this "As Live" episode, I wonder what we will spot.

Predictions.
1. Something will be thrown OFF CAMERA.
2. Yvette will scream.
3. Karl will get caught cheating.
4. Fred will do something suspicious.
5. They will not find any ghosts.

Yvette starts off looking like a physical manifestation of death, but who is that next to her! HOLY MOTHBALLS ROBIN, IT'S WATSON!!

A close up of Yvette reveals a striking resemblance to The Undertaker!

Codnor Castle looks like an interesting place, but I think the investigation will take place in a cottage since there is not really much of a castle left.

Watson has disappeared while Yvette is walking up the stairs telling us about the murders and suicides at the location.

For a show that is supposed to be 'as live', this early walkthrough has clearly been pre recorded and edited. But since it is just the walkthrough I will let them off.

You can tell when it is "As Live" as Yvette will keep fluffing her lines, despite being on Blue Peter, she is not very good as a host doing live stuff.

Amazingly they have a "Locked Off Camera", and Yvette pulls out a "Haunted Object".

She then pulls out this cursed, haunted doll with a suspicious red band or tape on it's left leg.

My first thought is that since we have seen video of quite a few Haunted Dolls that they need to do something over the top to beat all the other Haunted Dolls, so it just falling over would be a bit crap, I wonder what they will do?

They then shows footage from their house of Watson barking while the doll is in front of him.

Clearly Watson knows the doll is haunted. That or the fact he was not even barking at the doll, but at Yvette who is behind the camera, could mean that they were waving something that usually makes him bark.

Anyway we then get a shot of REHEARSALS for an earlier walkthrough where something is thrown OFF CAMERA, of course there are all manner of crew members there, including Karl who then suspiciously appears from the direction of where the item was thrown.

Karl even looks back at the area HE was in, and says "There is definitely no one back there."

Feel free to shake your head at this whole scene in disgust.

Just noticed Stuart is also on a camera.

We are now 10 minutes in, and they have not shown a single minute of "As Live" footage, just pre-recorded, edited footage of a walkthrough, and Karl throwing something.

Finally the "As Live" part starts, and everyone is stumbling over their words, and Watson has disappeared, I suspect he is having a nap.

If you are wondering what is in Fred's box, its another haunted doll.

Karl and Yvette are both acting quite skeptical towards the idea of a Haunted Doll, so I am guessing that there will be a big stunt with the doll as the finale of the episode. You can see it a mile off.

They remember Watson, so Yvette tells the camera to pan down to Watson, who is sleeping because he truly does not give a shit. And further proves their earlier footage of him barking was a set up, since he is near another haunted doll and doesn't care.

They turn the "Night vision" on, despite it being very bright, and start the investigation.

Karl claims to be cold, but debunks himself by pointing out some of the windows have been knocked out.

You can always tell when it is actually quite bright, as the night vision shots will be perfectly clear and not grainy.

Damn I am bored already, we are just gonna get ridiculous knocks and taps all episode. Suddenly the beardy bloke sniffs Yvette and gets caught, so he tries to pass it off as him smelling ghost perfume. Dirty perv! At least Glen never gets caught when he is having a crafty sniff of Yvette.

The biggest problem with Most Haunted is the endless discussions about things.

Suddenly Yvette hears footsteps and gets scared, and Fred appears suspiciously out of the dark.

The sheer amount of noise the 10+ crew members make as they walk about is ridiculous, but also goes to show that there is absolutely no controls in place. And that instantly makes the entire investigation a waste of time.

Making this an "As Live" special, is completely pointless, since it is clearly edited, and actually takes away from the show as I assume they are trying to film the entire thing within a much shorter time frame.

With a normal 2 part episode, they can film for longer, create set pieces easier which can be filmed multiple times until they get the ghost to do what they want.

28 Minutes in and I have totally lost interest.
I am messing on Twitter, replying to people on Facebook, looking at my phone. Do Most Haunted fans really sit for 2 hours watching the TV and not get bored?

Karl claims he can smell fire? I wonder if this is a pre-cursor to something that will happen later? Hmmm. Can't get that red band/tape on the dolls leg out of my mind.

Realising there are too many people together, Yvette says it is time for them to split up.

Beardy guy comes out with a load of nonsense about things being emotionally charged, and feeling on the edge. Glen just looks at him with utter incredulity.

Yvette is pretending to be scared, some really poor acting.

MAJOR edit in the film right now, as they cut to a different camera at the top of the stairs, remember they claim this is "as live" but it is 100% definitely not being filmed in one go.

Yvette while looking directly at Fred says that as she came upstairs all she could smell was a strong smell of BO (Body Odour), I always imagine that Fred would smell of Old Spice or Brut.

Yvette and the gang go to see if the Doll is still there, it is and it has not moved unfortunately.

"My hairs are standing on edge, my arms, my back" - Fred Batt

I am guessing his back is like a gorilla.

Suddenly a noise behind Karl and OFF CAMERA, a jingling sound, and some old coins have been thrown.

So basically Karl had a load of coins in his pocket, he waited for the camera to be pointing away from him, and he chucked them behind him.

Again Karl points out there is no one in the area where the coins where thrown, only him walking away from the area.

Yvette asks Glen, who is rightfully skeptical.

Notice Glens face here, he knows it was Karl, Yvette knows it was Karl, the viewers know it was Karl. Is there anyone in the world who thinks it was a ghost? Please leave a comment if you are one of those people. And please explain why you think it is a ghost and not Karl.

Even if you trust their word, just consider the ramifications if they were telling the truth. After the first time it happened, you would set up 20+ cameras, covering every single angle. Instead they just carry on as if nothing happened, or as if positive proof of ghostly activity is meaningless.

Throughout history there has NEVER EVER been proof of ghosts, never. It would change science, it would change the world, it would change history. Yet Most Haunted would have us believe that it is meaningless.

As they leave the area, suddenly more coins are thrown.

But hang on, you actually see Karl throw them! OMG they really screwed up here.

Right then, go to the following address to watch the episode.
https://uktvplay.uktv.co.uk/shows/most-haunted-2018-codnor-castle-cottage-special/watch-online

Go to 39 minutes, and 10 seconds, the screen will go to split screen, watch the screen on the bottom right. You will see Karl who is behind Glen, they reach the stairs, You can slightly hear the sound of Karl gathering up the coins, and then see his hand throw them.

They then count the original load of coins they picked up as if that somehow proves something. You can literally see Karl throw them. Hilarious!

"They came out of nowhere" - Glen.

So that was the big stunt that ends the first half of the episode. They talk for a bit and then move on. The Haunted Doll is still stood there doing nothing. Whats the betting that something happens to the doll right at the end of the episode, I am thinking it get struck by lightening or levitates, that would be cool. Something has to happen, and it will definitely happen at the end for the big finale.

At 43 Minutes, Karl throws some more coins, and you even see him reach into his back pocket just before he does it. Just too blatant for me to even moan about it.

That awkward moment when you can clearly see more coins in Karl's back pocket, and then the camera catches the moment he goes to reach for them right before they are thrown.

They finally get down the stairs, and no coins are thrown, mainly due to Karl being fully in the shot.

A Cameraman claims to be able to see something on camera, says it reminds him of the Predator film, the Camouflage when he goes invisible.

Of course us the viewer cant see anything. Yvette and beardy start talking to this invisible ghost as if it is a little child, they then throw some coins at the ghost.

Nothing happens.

The way they are talking now is as if it is a kind of smoke, but the camera cant see anything. I am instantly reminded of the smoke monster from Lost.

Yvette starts that annoying whistle thing.
Predator ghost decides not to whistle back.

Everyone gathers up together again, a few taps and knocks, the usual.

Cameraman says he can see an orb, luckily it is quickly forgotten about.
Karl is doubled over keeps saying he feels negative.

Stuart has been very quiet this episode so far. Pretty much just doing his job filming, this would likely point to him being involved in a big stunt yet to happen.

Glen decides to get in on the fun and claims he heard a yell in the distance. Nothing is picked up on camera. But I am sure he did hear something, the problem is that it could be anyone outside of the property, or even the female producer who is sat downstairs in the base room.

Now Karl claims he can feel a hand on his shoulder, Yvette has heard a groan.
Half hour left so they are definitely trying to build the tension now.

Yvette has decided she is psychic and is saying that she is picking up on something horrific having happened in the other room. She is giving the best performance of her acting career since Seaview.

Fred confirms that something had happened in the room they are looking at. Yvette wont go in the room.

Suddenly Yvette feels fine and goes into the room.

Stuarts hair growing back again, he needs to get the shaver on it.

Yvette decides to split people up again.

We then get a few minutes of them walking to the next building.

Stuart is with Fred and coins are continually being thrown, not at all convincing.

Yvette and her gang have decided to go to the kitchen. Sadly no knives on the wall.

Karl is on his own.

20 Minutes left, and 23 minutes till the footy starts, so this will be a close one for my review! As the footy is way more important.

Karl hears footsteps, which sound suspiciously like a sound file that has been added in post production. (1h12m)

Glen finally gets alone with Yvette and his bulge is starting to throb.

Suddenly Stuart gives off the fakest scream ever, after a noise OFF CAMERA, Stuart is totally over acting here.

Glen is showing Yvette his "special photos" on his laptop. Yvette is not impressed.

Back with Stuart and Fred, and a bed frame has moved OFF CAMERA, the audio added in post production of course. Same kind of thing they have done plenty of times before.

We then get a shot of the doll, damn that red band/tape on its leg looks suspicious.

And hilariously it has caught fire. Hahahahahaha, Oh come on, this is ridiculous.

Burning pretty well.

Ok so I have looked at the exact moment the doll catches fire. The dolls left leg, where the red band/tape is, it starts from that spot, and the rest catches fire. That is definitely the trigger point.

So how is it done, that's a good question. The is a very slight flicker as it is triggered. So it is ignited, and I am guessing it was something held by that suspicious red band/tape or the red tape itself. Now the camera was on the doll for a good few seconds before it ignited, there are no shadows or flickering shadows, so it cant be a hidden candle as you would see that. Could it be a lit cigarette placed hidden from view, in that red band? The doll caught fire pretty quick, I don't think an accelerant is used, I just think it is very dry flammable clothes it is wearing.

Obviously you can buy fire lights and charges etc that would do the job but I am not sure exactly how it is done, something is lit and then held in place by the red band, that I am sure of, as the fire is put out, the evidence is destroyed or kicked out of view in the commotion.

Leave me your opinion the comments.

Whatever you think of the show, this is a really impressive stunt, obviously faked, but still it is a good stunt. I expect Fred is the one who lights it since Stuart is filming.

They then have a ridiculous conversation about what to do with the doll, to bury it, burn it, Yvette decides to put it in a lock up and ask the viewers what to do with it.

They finish with this guy saying he found no accelerant used and no trigger. He states the cause of the fire is unknown. I am guessing he has never watched Most Haunted before! Now if you think Most Haunted paid thousands of pounds for forensic examination, then you are dreaming. UKTV only pay them about £5000 per episode, so they are not bringing in forensics to examine the doll. They have asked this Gary Williams bloke for his opinion, he has picked up the doll, smelled it, looked at it, and that's it. He never examined the location of the fire. Nothing.

My final guess is that the red band/tape is the big give away of how they did it. And was used to hold whatever the incendiary device was that started the fire, whether it was a lit cigarette or a firelight or a match, or whatever.

The red band is no where to be seen after the event, and in photos of the dolls all burnt etc, the red band is nowhere to be seen! Curious.

So to summarize, the exact method, I am not sure, but that red band/tape is the key.

A fun ending to a tiresome episode.
We get some highlights of the next episode, not sure if that is more from Codnor Castle, or another location.

4/10. Without the doll it would be a 1/10, but the doll stunt saved it.

UPDATE:
I have been trying to figure out how they did the Doll stunt, I have spoke with many people, and had a lot of suggestions, but we have an answer.

They filmed this show late last year, the Codnor Castle Trust was originally only making a very small income from the farmhouse/cottage, but since they started renting it out for investigations etc they were able to make £200 every time Most Haunted use it, so for their Most Haunted Experience nights and so on.

The doll stunt was performed in the roof area, strangely the floor in the roof is concrete not wood. I have been told that for some reason The Most Haunted crew had drilled into the concrete floor, as well as used pyrotechnics attached to the doll to set it on fire, and after the fire there was some scorching to the roof. As you can imagine the person in charge of the trust was very angry at this.

So there you have it, the doll was set on fire using a small pyrotechnic device attacked to the back of the dolls leg with the red tape/ribbon. A pyrotechnic device as you know can be lit and it takes a few seconds before it goes off. This matches perfectly with what happened, and if you look at the footage, as the doll falls you can just about make out the remains of the pyrotechnic device.

Cool, I will look out of the episode when it airs....
Oh en I fund this old shu that a Bull ad bin ate-in, it was cover in drool, but inside was a sodden bost piece of peper...

Really? What was written on it?....

"Spook-searching with Yvette Fielding and co! The ruins of Dudley Castle house a plethora of paranormal activity, with strange noises and a violent poltergeist awaiting Yvette and her team."

Yes it is that time again, and since Most Haunted this week are at Dudley Castle, I thought I would put my big boy pants on and get the review done early for once.
Now I know Dudley very well, I've investigated the Castle a few times, have known people who have worked there, in the museum part, in the Zoo, on the grounds, I even know people who have been employed as actors to pretend to be ghosts to hide around the place when there is a ghost hunt on.

Dudley Castle is NOT haunted, there are no ghosts there, (Or anywhere of course), all of the stories of hauntings from the castle, have been created to help with tourism, to sell ghost hunting tours, merchandise and so on. I repeat there are NO ghosts, poltergeists, ghoulies, a drummer boy, a grey lady, nothing at Dudley Castle, it is 100% made up for tourism.

Next up time for predictions for the episode.

1. Something will be thrown OFF CAMERA.
2. Fred will act suspiciously.
3. Karl will challenge a ghost to murder him.
4. Darren will get a throb on.
5. I will want to poke my own eyes out in frustration.

And with that lets get to the show.

Yvette is wrapped up well today, I am guessing it was a classic Dudley day with the weather.

For those of you with good memories, Most Haunted has investigated Dudley Castle before, on a Most Haunted Live, although they never mention that tonight. It's a great location for an event like that, as it is nice and big, lots to do etc. For a straight forward one night investigation, it's an old castle, it's a bit boring.

Looks like Stuart is back from his r̶e̶h̶a̶b̶ holiday this week.

Yvette and Glen start off in the museum area, And even see the rats. They are part of the Zoo area.
http://www.dudleyzoo.org.uk/14-baby-rats/

Although I am sure there are wild rats in Dudley, they probably like to stay in the sewers and not pose for the cameras.

Yvette is talking about the Castle, the hauntings and so on.
Even Glen points out it is stereotypical.

For some bizarre reason we keep getting this "behind the scenes" shot, the show even started with us hearing Karl say "Action". Not sure why they are doing this, but at least it is something different, but perhaps it exposes the fact that everything is very much scripted and pre-planned.

Lovely red lipstick on Yvette today, nice to see her make an effort.

Yvette and Glen are looking around, and doing a good job showing the various things to see in the museum area. Doing a good job advertising the Castle Museum.

They now start the investigation.
Yvette is with Darren and Glen.
Karl is with Fred and Stuart.

Yvette is already hearing bangs. Worth saying at this point, it is very easy for anyone to get on the Castle grounds, for kids to hide, mess about etc. And trust me if people see a camera crew, they gonna try and prank.

At roughly 13m 35s there is a weird sound, to me it sounded like a stone being thrown and then spinning on the floor. The sound has definitely been enhanced here.

Fred hears a noise, so they run about a bit, they are on the roof of the castle, so open air, and noises could be anything, hell a bird could pick up a stone and drop it near them. Karl decides to balance over the spiral stairs for no reason at all.

Karl reveals that they couldn't have Watson there because it is a zoo as well. But hang on a second Watson hasn't been on camera on any of the episodes of this season has he? And ALL the animals are contained at the zoo, you don't have giraffes walking about loose you know.

Glen is bored so is looking at the latest additions to The Fappening website, hoping beyond hope that a naked photo of Yvette has been leaked.

Artists impression of Glen if ever such a photo was leaked.

I am not a fan of outdoor investigations.

Back with Karl, they hear steps.

"It cant be a person" - Fred Batt.

Here is a simple question, why would a ghost need to use the stairs?

Karl claims the sounds are definitely paranormal as they cant be normal. With science like this all the skeptics need to go home.

Karl has enough of all the lies, stands ready to jump from the top of the castle. He shouts from the top of his lungs.
"I am NOT a real Samurai, I am NOT a Doctor, I flipped the bed, I threw the spoon, I cant even tie my own shoe laces"

And just as he is about to jump, Stuart grabs him and says.

"NO Karl, You ARE a real samurai, you ARE a real Doctor, and you would have gotten away with it if not for those meddling kids."

Now his head is back in the game, Karl stands up straight and challenges the ghosts to knock him off, to what would be certain death. (Perhaps someone should tell Dudley Castle about this scene, as I am sure they would not be impressed at this health and safety violation)

Never in my whole life have I wished to be wrong about ghosts. I was willing them with all my being to do ask he asked. But alas the ghosts decided to stay quiet, and avoid a potential lawsuit from Dudley Castle Ltd.

Back with Yvette and she knocks on the chair and asks the ghost to copy her, we then hear returning thuds, definitely from the ghosts, and not from one of the production team in the next room off camera.

Yvette knocks again, and again clear as day you hear a knocking back, but Glen said he could hear it very faint, and Yvette couldn't hear it all.

So basically this is being edited in or enhanced in post production, meaning what you are hearing through your TV speakers is not the same as what is being heard in the room. Sorry guys but more fakery right there.

By the ghosts not pushing Karl to his death, Karl realises he has just proven ghosts do not exist, so he quickly has to change course and says the ghosts do not want to hurt him, because he has been hurt in the past and now the ghosts feel sorry for him and want to hug him and make love to his naked body. Or something like that I don't recall, I was picking my nose during this bit.

Notice Stuart's hairline again, I still think he fakes his Alopecia and just shaves his head.

All gone a bit boring now, at least Karl and Stuart in in the museum area now inside. Hopefully they have a nice stunt for later.

Fred is looking incredibly suspicious as usual, hands in his pocket, any noises, things thrown will definitely be him.

Yvette asks the ghosts to do something to Karl and Stuart who are elsewhere, we get the split screen to trick viewers into thinking we are seeing the same timeline on both shots, within a few seconds there is a noise, and something has been thrown OFF CAMERA. As they investigate, something else is thrown behind them OFF CAMERA.

Karl is pretending to not be able to see where he is going, despite the fact Stuart has a big light on his camera, and things in the room are clearly casting a shadow.

For some reason Stuart keeps filming up Karl Beattie's snot ridden nose, I hope you are not eating while you are watching this.

Suddenly another noise and vase or something has been thrown OFF CAMERA.

Just one stationary £50 camera at the other side of the room with them both in shot would prove this was not one of them, but instead Stuart just chucks it with his spare arm.

21 series of Most Haunted and they have NEVER EVER, not once, ever, caught something being thrown that was not a crew member, from beginning to end. Never. If any of this was real, that is the single most unlucky streak in the history of the world.

There is a noise of a chain being moved, there is a chain on the table. Karl declares neither of them were near it, and it is the only chain in the room. But how do we as viewers know it is the only chain? For all we know Stuart has one in his pocket, around his waste. One of the many off camera production team could have a chain. Why they are filming using only one camera, when you can buy a simple GoPro style camera for hardly anything is beyond me.

They could even prop up one of their smartphones in the corner of the room, and hit record, it really is that simple, yet they never do it.

Dudley Castle Museum is full of CCTV, yet we never see any footage from that, why? Because the employee from the Museum turns off the CCTV while they do their investigation. That footage would be so valuable IF this was a real investigation and not a spoof.

Fans and believers of Most Haunted, however much you hate me, please just go ask these questions yourself, ask why we are never shown the CCTV footage that ALL of these museums have.

Fred looking suspicious.

"We are not here for the view, we are hear for the invisible things" - Glen.

Glen is up on the roof of the castle now, seemingly on his own. Nothing happens.

Karl shows off the museum piece that Stuart chucked earlier OFF CAMERA.

Back with Yvette and Fred, and Yvette is getting scared. You can hear steps or knocks very clearly through the camera, but they are not reacting, so this is some bad editing.

Now with Karl and Stuart and suddenly a big bang behind them and something has happened OFF CAMERA.

With Yvette and this has to be a mistake in the post production edit, I am guessing the knocks etc are supposed to be faint, but have come up really loud, but no one present is reacting to them, so they have definitely been added afterwards.

Fred has gone ahead, and there is a noise, so Yvette catches up to him, a big  dice has moved and Yvette even says "We just assumed it was you."

Why would Yvette assume it was Fred?

Yes Yvette it was him, it is always him.

This has been a really boring episode. 5 minutes left, come on Stuart and Karl, please do something.

Remember the days of Stuart fainting, or falling in graves or down a staircase. I miss that Stuart.

Suddenly there is a loud ringing of a bell, Stuart and Karl react accordingly.

Karl finds the bell, and points out he was one side of the room, and Stuart was the other. So how did it happen?

Here are just a couple of explanations that are much more likely than a ghost did it.

Stuart is holding another bell.
They recorded the sound of the bell on their phone and just played it back.
They recorded the sound of the bell and then added it in, in post production, and then just had to signal to each other when to react.

So simple to fake.

And that is it, the big finale was a bell ringing. What a complete and utter let down. With Stuart back I had really hoped for some quality shenanigans, but instead we got a few things thrown off camera, and a bell. That's it.

What a waste of mine and your time.

I can't even give this a 1 out of 10, this is a 0 out of 10, I wont give it a minus score since it is in Dudley, but still this was a terribly boring episode.
