Quite an unusual request this week here at BadGhosts. We actually received an Email from a member of the general public. You see, We do not usually deal with public requests for assistance (mostly It is other paranormal groups, or reporters for newspapers/TV that require our assistance), so we were quite pleased that Miss Gorman thought about us when she became somewhat concerned with a "paranormal Issue".

I believe It shows a certain "level-headedness" on her part not to scurry off to some of the more sensationalistic websites (who would undoubtedly proclaim that her Semi Detatched was infested by "Asmodeus" or some other important sounding Zoroastrian Demon).

Good for you Miss Gorman, you are a credit to your common sense. You would obviously like the truth of the matter, as opposed to sychophantic ego stroking at the hands of the "desperate to squat in your house overnight" paranormal groups. I shall endeavour to allay your concerns. Onto the Email then shall we?

No paranormal group "worth its salt" will ever claim to be "experts" on the paranormal, and any paranormal group hoping it will be taken seriously for its efforts would ever refuse to submit its findings and data for peer review. Peer review is the "safety net" that will catch your errors before you make a fool of yourself publicly by announcing premptive and incorrect findings to the general public.

This system of "refereeing" ensures that a concerted effort was made to ascertain the truth of the matter, by collaborating with experts in a particular field. This is why some paranormal groups have the edge over the regular "mediawhore" types who only ever seem to be interested in appearing on late night cable channel paranormal programs, small regional papers and womens magazine supplements.*
